An average movie

Somehow, I managed to finally watch ‘Sister Act’ only a couple of years ago but honestly, I didn’t really like it much, so I wasn’t expecting much with this sequel. Obviously, since the first installment was such a box-office success, they had to come up with a sequel which was released just a year later (considering the recent massive flop of ‘Sin City: A Dame to Kill for’, it shows that it is not very wise to wait too long to come up with a sequel). Anyway, coming back to our main feature, as usual, the story was rather uninspired but it was rather impressive how lazy they were when they wrote the screenplay. Indeed, we get all the old clichés about a teacher who has to work with some tough kids, except that the woman involved is not even a non or even a teacher in fact but that’s beside the point I guess. The only redeeming features were to see a very young Lauryn Hill who was just about 18 years old but already with an amazing vocal talent and a potential acting talent and an even younger Jennifer Love Hewitt (at only 14 years old!) but she barely had a speaking part here. To conclude, it was rather weak and I don’t think it is really worth a look.
