Review of The 10th Victim (1965)

I was pleasantly suprised by this film. I could see the nucleus of ideas for future films such as, The Running Man, The Hunger Games, and a nod to classics such as The most Dangerous Game. Love the artistic direction and style of the sets and wardrobe. Mastroianni and Andress are a joy to watch in this.

I found myself bursting out with laughter quite a few times at some of the subtle jokes. The best gag was after the man kills his target on the steps of the building that is in charge of the games, and an officer comes up to him and gives him a parking ticket.

It would be interesting to see this done today, not necessarily high budget but with our current state of tech. Love the silver Mausers used in this. The version I saw on Fandor looked great for a movie that is almost turning 50. Definitely adding this to my home collection.
