In my opinion, it is such a brilliant movie. I have actually seen it several times when I was younger, even in the movie theater when it was released but the last time was more than a decade ago so I really wanted to check it out again. Well, I wasn't disappointed, that's for sure. I'm actually rather amazed that it doesn't get more credit than this. I seriously believe that it is practically flawless. Indeed, you have here a profound and fascinating story, some very strong visuals but still grounded in reality, a mesmerizing soundtrack creating a great melancholic feeling and a top-notch cast giving some rather flawless performances. In fact, back then, Jude Law was practically unknown and this movie definitely launched his career. Basically, it is a great achievement and it's a pity this movie is now pretty much forgotten. Many years later, Andrew Niccol came back with another SF feature called 'In Time' and while there was once again a great concept involved, it was this time just so poorly developed and the whole thing was therefore rather disappointing. Anyway, coming back to our main feature, I think it is just a fascinating movie and it is definitely one of my all time favorites, especially in this genre.
