Amy Adams and Emily Blunt are 2 of my favorite actors, yet I've never heard of this film..hmm. I had to watch it. I didn't know what to expect, for I saw no trailer or knew anything about it. After watching the film, I'd consider the movie, a "dramedy".
The two fine actresses are sisters struggling with everyday life and not being 'wealthy'. Amy Adams' character has a son and has feelings for Steve Zahn's character, drama is ensued by this as you will watch the movie. She also is very caring and heads the family, if-you-will. Her sister played by Emily Blunt, is a bit younger and has that anxt-free-spirit-rebellion personality about her, while still being loving. Alan Arkin plays their father and is grumpy and it cracks me up, similar to "Little Miss..", but without all the pointless swearing. A great line of his, in which is profound was:
"Tis a business lie, not a LIFE lie."
There's dark humor, so it's not for everybody and it's not the feel good movie, but It's enjoyable to see the characters and story develop. A killer movie for sure.
