A very good movie

Honestly, I had no idea what to expect from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Kiefer Sutherland, I thought I should check it out. To be honest, even though Kiefer Sutherland managed to reach super stardom after playing Jack Bauer for almost a decade, his career was not always amazing but, I must admit it, he really impressed me in this flick. Indeed, it is basically a really obscure movie which was barely noticed when it was released but, in fact, it is a really strong drama, in my opinion, one of the best dealing with AIDS and, as a matter of fact, a better movie than ‘Philadelphia’. The point is that, the way it was built up was actually rather weak or pedestrian but the characters developed were really intriguing and Sutherland probably gave in the process his best performance. Indeed, you can feel the fraternal love between these siblings and also the frustration and sorrow which they also got from their relationship through the years.  Apparently, the main character was actually based on someone real and it is rather surprising that they didn’t mention it in the movie or the promotional material. Anyway, I thought it was a really good drama and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in Kiefer Sutherland’s work.
