'The Nostalgia Critic' has been around for a while and I've seen many episodes! This show never gets old! It's hilarious!
The show focuses on a sarcastic bitter movie critic known as the Nostalgia Critic (Doug Walker) who often reviews movies that are no longer in theatres and criticises most of them! As well as reviews, he does VS Rounds (Old Vs. New) and does Top 11 rounds
Most of his videos have at least one scene of hilarity! His 'Batman & Robin' review features the song 'Supercrapperf*ckarifficexpiallabullsh*t' which is a parody of a song that everyone knows and his tribute to Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel with someone having his balls out!
I've had mostly good opinions of the Nostalgia Critic but when he pitted 'Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory' against 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory', I thought the last round was unfair as he pointed out that 'Charlie' fills in a lot of plot holes in 'Wonka' but gives 'Wonka' the mark just because Wonka is the main character in the 'Charlie' version! And I had mixed opinions about his review of 'Hook' because he pointed out a lot of errors about it but yet he still loves it!
'Bart's Nightmare' was (possibly) his only video game review. I had a more negative opinion about his review, he plays the game, gets pissed off and smashes it! I also had a more negative side on his review of 'The Flintstones', he hated the cartoon and (completely) trashed the movie! His 'Thomas and the Magic Railroad' review was a little more harsh than it should have been because he kept yelling "It's Thomas the F*cking Tank Engine!" and after the first time it seemed over the top! It wasn't a bad review, it had some good laughs though(including him pointing out Alec Baldwin's character sticking out his middle finger which not even the BBFC or MPAA noticed) and one of the best episodes!
I thought his 'Cat In The Hat' review was pretty good though as (like observers), he pointed out all the dirty humour unsuitable for kids! In this episode, he babysits Satan's daughter who shows him the movie and he points out more adult content than many people!
I would love to see the Critic review movies like 'The Flintstones In Viva Rock Vegas', 'The Love Guru', 'Jack and Jill', 'Fred: The Movie' and the spoof movies written and directed by Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer ('Disaster Movie', 'Epic Movie', 'Date Movie', etc.) but I'll say (for now) that 'The Nostalgia Critic' is a mostly hilarious show and is worth watching! (if you're a massive Siskel & Ebert fan then check out his tribute to them)
