A classic

Since it is a big classic directed by Fellini, I was really curious to check this one out. The first thing to notice is that there was no plot whatsoever, it was more a typical Fellini flick with some quirky characters and situations. It has been reported that it was based more or less on Fellini's youth and, even though I thought it was interesting and intriguing, I can't say it was really mind-blowing. It is like all those characters portrayed in this flick, there were all pretty colorful but I can't say I really cared about any of them, about what they were going through or what they were thinking. I guess, it is definitely an aquired taste. Personally, I liked it but I can't say it was great. Still, Fellini was a great director and, without a story, through his mesmerizing directing, I couldn't help watching what was on my screen and he managed all by himself to make the whole thing still spellbinding to watch. To conclude, it is supposed to be a masterpiece but I wasn't really blown away. Still, it remains an interesting flick and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in Fellini's work.
