Review of Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues

Anchorman 2 is way better than the first one. They even throw a bit of supernatural dorkiness into this which is really cheesy, but I actually thought it was funny. To be honest I didn't even really like the first one except for Brick Tamland and the awesome cameos. I really do not like Will Ferrell's man-child acting persona. I find it rather aggravating and stupid. There are way better actors that do man-child way better. There are however a few scenes in this in which I did laugh with him in it.

Steve Carell is one of my favorite comedic actors and makes Anchorman truly worth the time. In fact I wouldn't mind seeing them make a spin-off with Brick Tamland as the lead. He is just one of the best supporting characters in film and steals the scene whenever he shows up. I think the funniest part with him was the funeral scene, but then again it is hard to choose.

I love Meagan Good and have had a crush on her since I saw her in You Got Served. She is gorgeous and I think she is an underrated actress as well. She has the potential to be a great actress as she shows here that she can do comedy to and not just stick to one genre.

The addition of James Marsden, Harrison Ford, and Kristen Wiig was well played. I didn't expect that Harrison Ford would do something this goofy and ridiculous, but I just didn't realize how funny this would actually be. Kristen Wiig is not my favorite actress or one I would even consider particularly good, but her character is adorable. Although her and Brick reminded me of Alan and Melissa McCarthy's character in The Hangover:Part III. James Marsden is hilarious in this and shows he still has some good acting chops.

I do wish that Christina Applegate had more on-screen time. Also I kind of thought Dylan Baker's character was kind of lame. As for Anchorman veterans Paul Rudd and David Koechner, eh I am indifferent for those two.

The cameos are what make Anchorman movies better. This one has so many cameos that is why I thought it was better and fun to watch. I think my favorite of the cameos would be Liam Neeson, Will Smith, Jim Carrey, Tina Fey, and Sacha Baron Cohen. There are also several other unexpected cameos such as Drake, Kirsten Dunst, Marion Cotillard, Amy Poehler, John C. Reilly, Kanye West, and Vince Vaughn (Again)

All in all I think this is a must see for fans of the first Ron Bergundy, Brick Tamland, or someone who wants to see some hilariously unexpected cameos.
