Rare for Hollywood standards. Losey in crash course with censorship. It´s imposible to wash the pasional adulterous, sick romance. Evelyn Keyes, ¡an underrated actress¡,barefeet says all about sex. The noirish tones are kinf of washed, maybe because of plain phto and supporting cast, and music. The end in ghost town Calico in hard to believe, but tolerable.
