A good movie

Basically, it is once again one of those really obscure French movies which almost no one has seen here on Listal. There was a time when I used to have this channel called TV5 which would broadcast only French speaking programs and movies. Their movie program was composed of 50% classics and 50% really obscure flicks and this movie definitely belonged to the 2nd category. Indeed, it is pretty obscure and, apparently if you consider the IMDB rating, it didnโ€™t get much love but I thought it was pretty good. The first appealing aspect of this movie was its interesting cast (Kristin Scott Thomas, Daniel Auteuil, Ludivine Sagnier, Jean Yanne, Emmanuelle Devos). First of all, I always find it really nice to see Kristin Scott Thomas in a French movie. Indeed, this British lady who has appeared in many US productions, actually lives in France, speaks French flawlessly and has recently made a few really successful French features. Here, her sparring partner was Daniel Auteuil, one of the best French actors, so it was really neat to see them working together. To be honest, the story was nothing really mind-blowing, basically a typical convoluted French romantic feature, but I thought it was entertaining enough. To conclude, I thought it was not bad at all and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in French movies.
