Disapointing, but with potential.

We've been long due for another red dwarf, and from the show's description I thought the time may have finally arrived. To hyperspace's credit, it is it's own show. This by no means is a red dwarf rip-off. It's just that I was kind of hoping for just that.

I felt this was more of a space show with comedy latched on, than a comedy with space latched on. It's a subtle difference, but one that becomes very apparent on watching very long. Both genre require a fair amount of suspension of disbelief, and for some reason this mix just continually drew me out.

The show has potential, but not so much that I'm sure it'll reach it. I'm giving it a couple more viewings before passing final judgment, but I'm not overly hopeful that I'm going to become a loyal viewer anytime soon.

Though, a quick note that the actors all seemed fantastic. I mean, come on, Nick Frost! Keven Eldon also came close to stealing the show. But even the greatest need something to work with.
