Review of Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi

I remember once during a summer me and an olโ€™ buddy had this film on in the background 6 times in one night. Return of the Jedi was my favourite back in the school days as it restored hope and had enough going on in it to keep my youthful mind occupied. At the beginning it reintroduces all the characters and shows them at their best. Han bargaining out of a difficult situation, Luke bettering himself at every step, Leia showing she shouldnโ€™t be underestimated and the Droids always up to no good.

The end sequence is split into 3 different stories with prominent characters and almost unreachable goals. This was one of the main reasons why I liked Lord of the Rings because it showed separate journeys all leading to the same result. The people of the world/galaxy struggling for one common cause which I find quite commendable.

Fantastic climax and the *severally edited* end epilogue which shows that everything they have been fighting for has paid off and a new era of peace is a head of them.

Iโ€™d also like to add a bit about the obvious villain in all of this. Emperor Palpatine is by far the central antagonist of all six films and holds an indefinite grasp and understanding of how to manipulate all evil to his will. Everything he says in this film is pure arrogance and there is no redemption for this man. Having a mere man shown as so unforgiveable and twisted is purely exhilarating. I found him as one of the most intriguing characters of film history. Shame there is little background on how he started to fall down this dark path.

Well Done.
