Beautifully bizarre!

When I first read the plot of Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind, I knew I was going to like it but I had a few problems with the plot because it is a rather bizarre story. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is an absolutely outstanding film that is very weird but is very original and really beautiful to watch. It is one of those films that is bizarre but in a very creative, clever and very original way. Others are Adaptation and Being John Malkovich. It is a film that is really heartbreaking because of the romance between the characters and the dramatic yet bizarre consequences. This film is a bright black-comedy as well as sci fi drama. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is a film that some people hate because of its weirdness but some people love it like me for its beauty and it's creativity. I loved this film all the way through because of that and also it is a film that is in my opinion a creative landmark in cinema like Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. All three of the original bizarre masterpiece films all have really good casts.

This is the first drama Jim Carrey performance so far because he is playing a man who requests a prodecure to forget all his memories. He portrays Joel Barish in a new way of acting for Carrey but has some comedy involved so that is where it slightly becomes typical Jim Carrey. Joel is a man who meets girlfriend Clementine for the first time at a beach party in Montauk, New York. They both become lovers and experience different things on life. Kate Winslet's performance as Clementine Kruczynski was typically outstanding as always. Kate proved herself to be the only actress to portray Clementine. Kate's portrayal of Clementine is rather unusual and it's the first time she has been part of an unusual film. Clementine is a very bizarre character because not only does she go through different illusions so to speak within the film but also she has lots of different hair colours: blue, red, pink, green, orange etc. If Kate Winslet or Jim Carrey weren't in Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind at all then I personally think it would have been a big disappointment. Kirsten Dunst, Elijah Wood, Mark Ruffalo and Tom Wilkinson were good as well as their characters.

Michel Gondry's direction of Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is very similar if not the same kind as Being John Malkovich and Adaptation. I love films like that. They are just really clever and films that you can really use your imagination on. The stories are similar in all three of those films but the one thing that all three have in common is that they have the same screenwriter Charlie Kaufman. Kaufman is my favourite screenwriter and has yet to fail. To me he is the best ever! Most screenwriters think of made up stories and end up failing miserably but all three of those films that he has done have been great successes to me and have earned a piece of Oscar glory.

Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is a very unusual film that is just an absolute masterpiece! Despite the fact it's a masterpiece it isn't Charlie Kaufman's best written achievement. I prefered both Being John Malkovich and Adaptation over Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind. It is in my opinion Jim Carrey's best performance so far. I also loved his performances in The Grinch, Bruce Almighty and Lemony Snicket's A Series Of Unfortunate Events. Kate was the best of the whole cast but I still prefer her performances in Revolutionary Road and Titanic. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is one of my top 10 science fiction films and romantic films. It is my fourth favourite film of 2004 after Closer, Spider-Man 2 and Finding Neverland. Eternal Sunshine Of The Spotless Mind is an absolutely amazing masterpiece that I will never forget and will always love forever.
