This book, the first ever published on this subject, provides fascinating and complete information about the elderly and old age in ancient Egyptian times. The authors portray the aged in representations of art, medicine and surviving mummies. Pensions, care of the elderly and aged administrators are also discussed in depth. The authors have also included a brief chapter detailing Egyptologist Margaret Murray's long life.

Illustrated in black and white, this book should be recommended reading for all.
