What an inspiration!

Wow! My heart broke and melted at the same time at this fantastic phenomenon. This is such a powerful film that I absolutely loved from start to finish. I almost cried at how beautiful this film is and how much I love it. I am a big follower of autism and the meaning of what it is was told in the best way. I know someone very close who suffers from it. I love films involving a man/woman with a disability that reveals how beautiful life can be for someone despite of the disorders they have which is why Forrest Gump and Rain Man are very close to my heart. Rain Man is a masterpiece that I knew I was going to love because the story is beautiful, cast is awesome and all of the glory it has earned regarding Oscars. This film teaches us that a person can change for someone that are close to them.

Dustin Hoffman's performance as Raymond Babbit was absolutely phenomenal. It is a one-of-a-kind performance which makes Rain Man Hoffman's best film. Dustin Hoffman gave us a performance that truly did make us believe that he really did have autism but obviously in real-life he doesn't. It is something very easy to recognize when you see Raymond behave around people. I think Hoffman must have read really hard on autism or watched documentaries about the disability. As I said in my Kramer Vs. Kramer review, Dustin Hoffman is really good at playing friendly, innocent and rather sweet characters. If he plays another character like it in the future, we could be seeing a third Oscar for Dustin Hoffman. Tom Cruise delivers in my personal opinion his best performance because he plays Charlie Babbit with such arrogance which is what Tom Cruise can be like in real-life on occasions. He can also show the pure beauty of helping his brother. I can't believe Tom Cruise wasn't nominated for an Oscar in this film.

Barry Levinson's work on Rain Man was such an inspiration and fascination to me because me being a deep follower of autism was inspired by how well filmed this was. I think that the director had great commitment with autism to want to do this film and was interested in the condition. The script was very original like some of the ways Charlie and Raymond were around each other and were so different from each other, it seemed like it needed some deep research on the internet to write such a fantastic script.

Rain Man is one of my most loving films ever! I was blown away by it with it's heartbreak and it's beauty as well. It is the best performance from both Dustin Hoffman and Tom Cruise. Rain Man and Forrest Gump are the two best films about a person with a disability. Rain Man is one of the best films of the 1980s as well as one of the best films ever made! I have to say it is one of the biggest inspirations to me. People who haven't seen this masterpiece or don't like it aren't even living. You will be alive when you see this and will appreciate how fantastic this film really is.
