One of the best sequels ever!

Toy Story 2 is another sequel that I would call one of the best sequels of all time because it follows up from the previous film ever so well and it doesn't flaw at all. This film is hilarious, original, emotional and very thrilling in some moments because of the action scenes within it. It rips off some moments of other previous movie moments most notably The Empire Strikes Back. I loved every single second of this masterpiece. This one may not be as famous as the first film but personally I think this one is better. The first is a classic but this is a follow-up of a classic. Both Toy Story and Toy Story 2 are top childhood favourites of mine that I would always watch and used to be literally obsessed with as a kid especially Buzz Lightyear. It is one of the cleverest and very well thought up films ever made. I am a big PIXAR fan and both Toy Story films have introduced the modern day PIXAR films nowadays that they cannot disappoint in any way at all. I think the main reason why I preferred the second one to the first was because I was more interested in the plot of the second film more than the first and I liked the characters more as well. Toy Story 2 is the best animated sequel of all time and I am proud to call it that. Most animated sequels except Toy Story 2 have been totally flawed and have been weaker stories and ridiculous characters. The only animated sequels I can think of that are almost as good as or better than the first films are Toy Story 2, Shrek 2 and The Lion King 2: Simba's Pride. What I loved the most about Toy Story 2 is that they brought back the old characters again such as Woody, Buzz, Rex, Bo Peep, Mr Potato Head, Hamm, Slinky Dog etc but have brought more toys into the film and have made them very interesting and humorous for both kids and adults. They brought characters such as Jessie, Stinky Pete The Old Prospector, Bullseye and the Barbie dolls. They are all now real life toys which makes both films eve more famous than they already are.


Tom Hanks' voice acting of Woody is amazing once again. He is the only actor to portray the voice of Woody. Without Tom Hanks there would be no Woody. Instead of Buzz ending up in trouble like he was in the first film, this time it's Woody. Woody tries to save a friend from being sold in a yard sale but inadvertently gets himself into the hands of money-greedy, fat Al who owns the toy shop Al's Toy Barn. Once at Al's flat he meets Jessie, Stinky Pete and Bullseye who reveal themselves as Woody's Roundup Gang and say that all four of them are part of a phenomenal former television show. Buzz ends up rescuing Woody instead of Woody rescuing Buzz because of this. His accomplices to complete his mission are Rex, Slinky Dog, Hamm and Mr. Potato Head. They end up getting into situations that are hard for them to get out of.


The directing in this film was awesome from John Lasseter. He has created two family phenomenons that came out of his own head and he is now a genius. His work in the two Toy Story films and A Bug's Lief are awesome but his work in Cars was good but nowhere near as good as his other works. Lasseter has created one of the best sequels ever as well as the best animated sequel too. It is an ingenious film that I could watch often. I used to watch this a lot as a kid and I still do now. The script is absolutely amazing. It is original with a very clever meaning to it and it takes a genius to create masterful scripts in an animated film.


Toy Story 2 is my third favourite PIXAR film to date after Ratatouille and Finding Nemo. Toy Story 2 is a better film than the first one for the reasons I have stated in my review. Both Toy Story films are films that Tom Hanks will always be remembered for as well as Forrest Gump, Green Mile, Saving Private Ryan and Cast Away. Toy Story and Toy Story 2 were one of my all-time favourite childhood films of all time. Toy Story 2 is one of my top animated films of all time as well. Toy Story 2 is a clever masterpiece that I have watched a lot and could always watch!!
