Review of Tri-State

Quoted directly from a review I wrote a little while ago:

Tri-State is a strong, diverse and a beautifully produced album. Those of you going to purchase this CD seeking a solid trance album, Tri-State isn't for you. This is far from being an album of club tracks.

Most of the tracks on this album are new materials, with the addition of "Air For Life" (teamed with ANDY MOOR) and "Alone", both already well received tracks. But these two are far from being the highlights of this album.

Tracks such as "Tri-State", "Home" and "Indonesia" are three tracks which come to mind for being highlights. Their sounds are mellow and their atmosphere's are soothing. These are the more downtempo'd tracks you may wish to put into your chillout collection, something I don't usually directly associate with Above & Beyond.

Then moving onto the more upbeat sounds in which we're used to from Above & Beyond, "For All I Care", "Can't Sleep" and "Hope" are the tracks which get my attention the most next to the more mellowed sounds of "Tri-State", "Home", "Indonesia", "Good for Me" and "In the Past".

Even though there are a couple of tracks on this album which aren't on my list of great tracks ("Air for Life" and "Stealing Time"), Tri-State doesn't contain a bad track.

Conclusion: Whether you want those club tracks or you want to sit around and relax at home for a while, it's definately one to add to your album collection or playlists. I give it a 9/10. And I definately wouldn't mind hearing more of the mellowed tracks from these three guys.

9/10
