Continuing from where the original left off, the R season... isn't as good as the first one. The filler arc with the Cardians is somewhat weak compared to the Rainbow Crystal arc from the first season, and several fans had problems with Chibi-Usa, who, until the end, came off as a bratty, whiny child that gets in the way. The worst part is that because Mamoru fears that Usagi will die if he stays with her, he breaks off their relationship despite that he still loves her either way. The upside is that Chibi-Usa, as well as Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus (the original protagonist) all get some rather meaty character development. Not as good as the first season, but the last thing I stated makes up for it.
