An enchanting historical novel

The Silent Sin is a enchanting historical novel that balances precariously between life and death. Anna, the main character, has lost her family. She becomes a maid in the house of the music publisher The Malapert. The maid is intrigued by the De Malapert. The book reminded me a little of Kazuo Ishiguro’s The Remains of the Days. It is a richly atmospheric work, filled with historical personages and event. I can’t recommend this highly enough.
