9 is definitely not a 9

Fan service for the johnny the homicidal maniac, invader zim crowd who hangs out at hot topic. Visually creative yes, but that's where the creativity stops. This movie suffers from quite a few key elements of story telling. Weak plot, absolutely no character development, and bad pacing to name a few.

My main problem with this film is that nothing really seems thought out. It seems as if they are trying to make some kind of commentary on war and the 'technology vs. humanity' debate. When the little effigy people start dropping like flies you could care less, like they are fodder for the really cool looking monstrosities that hunt them. Each character design looks unique, as if they would have an interesting story to tell or some cool ability to add to the group, but sadly, not really explored that much.

I think this concept would have made a better video game alone than a movie, that way you could utilize their respective talents and see what each person contributes, yeah a problem solving/puzzle game. And are they supposed to just be soul fragments or represent pieces of humanity aspects of human nature? If not then why make them look different? ...i don't know. I was really really disappointed. I was looking for more from this. Sorry to those who liked it.
