suburbia

This is a very good and realistic picture of the american society during the Vietnam war,and an obvious critical attitude about one rotten and hypocrite after-war suburbian society. The movie follows the lives of outcast punk-rock teenagers living in an abandoned house, and while they're beeing threated like some low life scum by the local rednecks, frustrated war veterans, what's under the surface is a completely different picture.A picture that shows a complete failure and negligence about the young generations, who are left in shadows of middle-aged frustrations of their parents and a lack of emitions and care. The main backbones of society are ruined and replaced with bitterness, weakness and worthlessness, which strongly affects on a rebelious adolescent behaviour!
The movie is very sad,but the element that gives such a degree of sadness to this movie is the fact that it is so real!some quite disturbing scenes, like a bunch of abandoned dogs walking down the streets, and a tragedy when a dog kills a small boy in front of his mother's eyes. That is just one scene that describes the dark atmosphere in this little suburbia, but there are also more tragic events in the movie and they all show a complete fiasco in people's minds that reflects on the fiasco in their environment and in the minds of their children! And in the end,I must recommend a great music,a really great punk music in this one,and a great reflection on the atmosphere on punk-rock concerts at the time!
