A good movie

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but, since it was directed by Jonathan Demme and since it had a really strong reputation, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, it is usually regarded as one of the best movie concerts ever made but, to be honest, in my opinion, your appreciation will really depend on how much you care for ‘Talking Heads’ or not. As far as I’m concerned, I did listen to this band but it was only for a very short while and it was seriously decades ago. As a result, I did recognize only 2 or 3 songs like ‘Burning Down the House’ and ‘Once in a Lifetime’ which are some pretty cool songs, I have to admit it. The stripped down intro with only David Byrne singing on his guitar and having them adding one band member for each following song was a neat touch. I was also interesting that ‘Talking Heads’ was actually a 4 members band and they doubled this number for this tour. Technically, they were all pretty good though and I did like the energy everyone was giving through their performances. Seriously, it seemed like most of the band was actually literally running through the whole duration and it was actually pretty neat. I have also admit that David Byrne was a really good front man and his performance was quite entertaining. Still, even though it was indeed some solid stuff, was it really the best filmed concert I ever saw? Well, not really and, at the end of the day, I didn’t see anything really amazing here. Anyway, to conclude, even though it didn’t really blow me away, I have to admit that it was still a decent watch and it is worth a look, especially if you are interested in this band.
