A good movie

Since I have always been a huge fan of Led Zeppelin, from the moment this documentary was available on Netflix, I jumped on the occasion to see it. As a documentary, I would have to admit that it was probably too straightforward but, damned, I still enjoyed it though. Indeed, without realizing it, Led Zeppelin is and has always been one of my favorite bands, I especially love their 2nd album and it was just so neat to see where it all started for this legendary band. On top of that, I have to admit that I didn’t know much about their history so the whole thing was really neat. They also spent a lot of time playing their actual music which might seem cheap (it actually was) but, if you are fan like me, you won’t be complaining about it. I also loved how they displayed how, each of them except maybe Robert Plant, were some really accomplished musicians even before they started to work together and how technically skilled their music was from the very beginning. The only thing that really bothered me was how this movie abruptly stopped after the release of their 2nd album. At the time, the band was really becoming huge and I was wondering how it all went down until the untimely death of John Bonham. Unfortunately, it all stopped and, to be honest, I was rather shocked. Of course, with such a title, I should have expected it but a more comprehensive documentary covering their whole journey would have been more satisfactory, at least, to me. On the other hand, they would have probably had to cover Jimmy Page’s drug addiction and John Bonham’s heavy alcoholism. This way, they only had to cover the good bits but I thought it was rather frustrating. Anyway, to conclude, I’m not sure if I should recommend this flick but, if you are a fan of this band, you should definitely check it out though.
