Review of Vicious

The one line summary. Sad girl is given cursed macguffin and lots of bad things happen.

I knew nothing about this film other than it was horror ,so I had no expectations going in . I feel there's something potentially great about this movie but it doesn't achieve that goal. It falls short . Polly's a complex , damaged and interesting character ,and the film is all about her journey . We get lots of snippets that hint at things but , overall ,it feels as if we're missing something that could make this movie more cohesive and fulfilling
I'm tempted to re-watch this film but there's too much self mutilation in it for me.
If one becomes available I'd like to listen to a commentary and hear what the director and Dakota were trying to achieve.
Overall this is a badly flawed gem which will leave many disappointed and probably frustrated.
