An average movie

To be honest, I didn’t expect much from this flick but, since it was available on Netflix, I thought I might as well check it out anyway. The main reason I watched this movie was because it was directed by Andy Tennant. In fact, I’m not even a huge of his work but I’m pretty obsessive regarding my movie watching and I had seen pretty much all his movies, except this one. Anyway, watching a movie with the Olsen twins was not exactly on my bucket list and, indeed, the damned thing turned out to be pretty lame. Sure, you could argue that I wasn’t really the target audience and I guess it might be more enjoyable for very young kids. Of course, the concept was rather far-fetched (eventually, it’s not even explained how these 2 girls have exactly the same age and are identical) but it wasn’t really the main issue. As far as I was concerned, the main issue was that, sure, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen were really cute and charismatic, I’ll give you that, but unfortunately, both of them were such poor actresses. Fortunately, from the moment they switched places, it wasn’t a problem anymore since the 2 little girls were pretending to be someone else so their poor acting skills actually worked in this set-up. It’s rather funny that, eventually, even though the Olsen twins would become huge stars, it would be her little sister Elizabeth Olsen who would eventually impress the world with her acting skills (at least, if she ever manages to get out of the MCU). At least, I have to admit that Kirstie Alley and Steve Guttenberg had surprisingly a lot of chemistry together and they made a charming couple. Anyway, to conclude, the damned thing was pretty weak and you should probably avoid it.
