The script and dialogue: Many critics agree that they're clichéd, predictable, and feature shallow characters. There's little development or surprise.
Uneven production: Some sets, effects, or scenes are limited, with poor lighting and inconsistent atmosphere. This takes away some of the immersion.
Uneven pacing: Although it starts strongly, some scenes drag on longer than necessary, or moments of danger are repeated without advancing the tension or the characters' arcs much.
