An average movie

To be honest, I wasn’t expecting much from this flick but, since it was available on Disney+ and since it was on my queue apparently for ages (I have seriously no idea why), I thought I might as well check it out. Well, it turned out to be a rather unpleasant viewing but probably not for the reason you might expect. Basically, two months ago, I took a very risky trip to Africa on my own to meet someone I barely knew. My parents freaked out really bad and tried to convince me for weeks not to go. Eventually, I still did go and it went well but the whole thing was just so stressful, I might actually never travel again, like ever, just to avoid all this hassle. With this in mind, this movie basically confronted me with what could have actually happened during my trip and, well, it was not fun, I can guarantee you that. Concerning the movie itself, well, even without my personal connection with the material, it was still really lame though. I mean, I have nothing against Amy Schumer, she can be actually pretty funny but she basically plays the same character in all her movies and her shtick is getting old by now. For Goldie Hawn, it was even sadder since it was the first movie she made in 15 years and you wish she would have come out of het self-imposed retirement for something more worthwhile than this. Concerning the relationship between the two characters, it was actually nothing really extreme but the end-result was definitely boring and really uninteresting. Eventually, the only thing which was mildly amusing was to see Ike Barinholtz’s character stalking this US government agent and their banter was not bad. Unfortunately, pretty much everything else was just either lame or not entertaining whatsoever. To conclude, for the reason I mentioned earlier, I probably shouldn’t have watched this movie but it’s definitely not worth it anyway and you should probably avoid it as well.
