A very good movie

I already saw this movie but, since it was a while back and since I had it on DVD, I thought I might as well check it out again. In fact, I actually watched this movie for the first time in the movie theater back in the 90’s when the Wallace and Gromit shorts were released all together. Back then, I had a total blast and I became a huge fan right away. With this short, it had been a while since I last saw it and I actually had a hard time to remember it in details. I have to admit that I was actually really positively surprised by this rewatch though. Indeed, I really loved ‘The Wrong Trousers’ but, to be honest, even if I'm a huge fan of Wallace and Gromit, I tend to think that the movies that came afterwards, above all their plot, were just too similar. Indeed, once again, it was some kind of thriller, once again, the nefarious plan of some bad guy had to be stopped and, once again, one of Wallace’s daft inventions was corrupted/misused for some evil purposes. And, yet, when rewatching it once again after all these years, I have to admit it didn’t bother me at all though. Indeed, the damned thing was just so hilarious and, as usual with Nick Park and Aardman, it was visually so impressive with some of the best clay-motion. This movie was also the introduction of Shaun the Sheep and he was indeed a pretty cool character. In fact, this little sheep turned out to be apparently so  popular that he would eventually get his own spin-off including a television series and several feature-length films. Another really neat character here was Wendolene who was basically Wallace’s very first love interest. It was really clever how she resembled Wallace physically and she even had a super smart dog called Preston but he didn’t seem to get along with Gromit for some obvious reasons. The way he framed Gromit for his own crimes was so ridiculous but still really funny. Unfortunately, a possible love story between Wallace and Wendolene didn’t last long after all and the way they ended this new burgeoning romance was also quite hilarious. Anyway, to conclude, I really loved the damned thing and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
