An average movie

I have a somewhat difficult relationship with Penélope Cruz. I mean, she is definitely charming and she seems to be rather talented but I'm never really blown away by the movies she's involved or her perfomances, even in the movies directed by Pedro Almodovar and the American productions in which she is usually casted are even more disappointing. Anyway, this time around, it was a Spanish flick directed by a decent director, Fernando Trueba, so I thought it should interesting, or at least entertaining. Eventually, the whole thing was pretty disappointing and, honestly, pretty boring. I mean, the story actually had some potential but I really didn' like the fluffy tone at all. Once again, I'm not sure if Penélope Cruz should be blamed but I thought her acting was rather bland, like all the other actors involved, as a matter of fact. To conclude, even though the whole thing had some potential, I thought it was an average and boring flick and I don't think it is really worth a look.
