An average movie

Even though I didn't have some high expectations concerning this flick, I didn't expect it to be so disappointing... Indeed, it is easily one of the weakest romantic comedies I have seen for a while. First of all, I have nothing against Amy Adams. She is really charming but she always plays the most annoying female characters and this movie was not exception. Matthew Goode was a little bit better but the whole thing was still far from being impressive. In fact, Goode himself later on went on record saying he reckoned that the film was one of the year's worst. And I would have to agree with him... The whole thing just follows the rules of the formulas without adding anything new or interesting to it so I was rather bored. I was honestly wondering why they were actually attracted together and from the moment they loose the car, there is actually no reason for Declan to go futher along with Anna on her journey. Finally, the whole thing is just filled with terrible clichés and stereotypes about Ireland and I really wonder what the Irish people would make of this. To conclude, it is not really bad but it is just terribly weak and it is not really worth a look, even if you like the genre.
