An average movie

I wasn’t expecting much from this flick but my girlfriend was eager to check it out so I thought we might as well check it out together. Well, it turned out to be one of these typical Dutch romantic-comedies and, to be honest, I'm not a huge fan of the genre. At least, I have to admit that it wasn’t the worst of the bunch but it was still nothing really remarkable. Concerning the cast, even though I have heard about Eva van de Wijdeven, it was nice to finally see her in action as she is really charismatic and it would be really neat to see her in a more interesting project. Concerning Jelka van Houten, I have to admit that she can be pretty funny but, to be honest, she does feel like a cheaper and less charismatic version of her famous sister Carice. Concerning the rest of the cast, there were some decent actors involved but they were all stuck playing some really poorly developed characters. Coming back on the movie itself, not only the concept (what was the concept actually?) was barely entertaining, they developed some rather dubious ideas. For example, the sister and the mother of Gijsje kept telling her that there was nothing wrong about the fact that she cheated on her boyfriend and it should all be fine as long as he didn't find out the truth. By the way, this turn of events came seriously out of nowhere. I mean, sure, it was pretty obvious that Gijsje needed to chill but having sex with a co-worker was a huge stretch though. The way the two sisters were apparently flirting with some other men was definitely awkward and it is definitely something I don't really enjoy in such average romantic-comedies. Anyway, to conclude, I really didn’t care much about the damned thing and I don't think it is really worth a look, except maybe if you really like the genre.
