An average movie

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this flick but, since it was available on Netflix, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, To be honest, I thought it was not bad at all as it turned out to be a solid Dutch thriller after all. Indeed, the story and the characters involved were all quite entertaining but unfortunately, like most Dutch productions, it was obviously lacking some ambition. As a result, it was visually nothing thrilling and not much better than a cheap TV police procedural. Above all, the hypnosis scenes were especially weak as they didn't even display how the main character was put under hypnosis which was rather disappointing. Concerning the actors, I always had a weak spot for Anna Drijver and she was not bad here but everybody else was rather weak though. Coming back on the story itself, I stil enjoyed it though. Indeed, it was never too convoluted and the whole hypnosis thing actually made sense, even if you obviously can't trust some memories that go back 25 years before (I can't even figure out what I actually did yesterday...). The only plot-hole I can figure out was how it didn't strike anyone, especially the police, that no one actually could recall having an actual conversation with Nathalie the day of the party? On the other hand, the fact that Eva got confused and mixed up many things actually made sense since she spent the whole day in love with Theo, even having sex for the first time and having her heart broken on top of that. Still, when her best friend got missing, how could she didn't notice that they haven't spoken or even seen each other for so long? Anyway, to conclude, in spite of its flaws, it was still a decent watch though and I think it is worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
