An average movie

When this movie came out, I was just a kid and I thought it looked pretty neat but, unfortunately, I didn't have the chance to watch it back then. So, 20 years later, I finally managed to check this flick. The big difference is that now, I kind of grew up a little bit and it would have been better if I watched it when I was still a kid. I mean, there was a nice cast (Charles Grodin, Bonnie Hunt, Oliver Platt, Stanley Tucci, David Duchovny) and there were here and there a few funny scenes but, all in all, I thought the whole thing was really predictable and pretty boring to watch. It was written by the late John Hugues who did some good stuff ('The Breakfast Club') and some not so good stuff ('Curly Sue') and, in my opinion, this movie belongs to the 2nd category. I guess young kids would probably enjoy it more than I did but I thought it was a real borefest. To conclude, many people cherisch this flick because they enjoyed it when they were kids but I thought it was not really good but it is still worth a look for young children, I guess, otherwise you should probably pass on this one.
