An average movie

I wasn't really sure what to expect from this flick but since it was one of the last movies starring Chadwick Boseman, I was quite eager to check it out. Well, in spite of Boseman's tremendous charisma and talent, to be honest, I'm not surprised that it turned out to be a box-office flop when it was released. Sure, it was fairly entertaining but I'm afraid it wasn't enough and the fact that the damned thing was just so generic and predictable certainly didn't help. I mean, right from the moment you see this group of cops showing up at this restaurant for some reasons completely unrelated to the robbery actually taking place at the very same moment, it was all pretty obvious what was going on. Maybe it would have been more interesting if they took a darker approach. Anyway, solving this massive corruption case by getting some crucial intel in some USB sticks provided by a completely random character was actually pretty lazy. At least, it was refreshing that the two robbers were both not some complete idiots but, eventually, the only one who managed to do something really interesting with his character was Boseman. Indeed, even if the material was actually rather disappointing, he certainly made the most of it and was always compelling to watch. I wish I could say the same about Sienna Miller though. I mean, it's not that she was really bad but, as usual, she was given so little to do and it seems that the main focus with her was to make sure that her character was not too pretty. Seriously, they could have removed her character and I don't think it would have made a difference. In fact, it would have isolated Boseman's character even more making his situation even more difficult and therefore more intriguing. Anyway, to conclude, in spite of its flaws, I still think it is worth a look though, if only to see Chadwick Boseman shine one more time.
