Review of The Equalizer 2

Escentially it's quite better than the first part, mostly because its not only a about an apparently nobody beating some bad guys in the streets or even, like other movies of the style, getting over a whole organization, and although this does happen at the beginning, the movie takes its time to build a better conflict that doesnt border on the ridiculous, in the first movie we have this russian mafia with a clichรฉ psychopath villain and in this we have some former agents that were involucrated with the protagonist in his past, which makes the conflict make more sense and it doesn't seem like he's just getting into a problem that has nothing to do with him, and also his life was already at risk anyway.

The resolution and the characters in general were better built since we spend more time on connecting to them and the movie doesnt appeal to the typical victimization, and this allows the situations that happen around to be more tense and dramatic, sure Robert seems invencible like before and this could be a major problem but as i said, he doesnt fight to many enemies at the same time so, at least here, he doesnt feel like a gary stu.

The movie is good not only because it cares about the problems in the first part and others movies like it, but also for changing the formula a bit and be slower in favor of a much better narrative, I could understand that for some this could be boring compared to the first part that was always in action, but even so, this is good and there is no lack of it, and above all, its more realistic. I would say that an aspect that I liked was the conclusion of the character, now implying that he can live in peace from there since in theory he has no longer any more enemies, and finally we get to know more of him and what he did before, plus the cinematography was espectacular and it contributes a lot to the tension presented and the experience in general. 7/10
