A good movie

As Nick, my step-son, is autist, I was really eager to watch this flick. I must say it was pretty emotional to watch this movie and, in my opinion, it is one of the best movies I have seen about this subject. However, even though this movie had the potential to be really great, it was still rather flawed. Indeed, even though the study of autism was pretty spellbinding to watch, the makers felt compelled to combine it with a romantic story and, unfortunately, this romantic relationship was not really believable. I mean, I could accept the fact that Adam would be physically attracted to Beth but Iย  didn't feel any connection between them at all during the whole movie and the fact that it followed the traditional rules of any romantic movie didn't help either (ย they have a meet cute, they get together, they argue, they split, they get back together again and finally they split up for goodย ). Still, I really liked this movie above all thanks to Hugh Dancy who gave a really strong performance. I don't think I managed to spot him once getting out of character and he gave one of the most impressive performances of an autistic person I have ever seen. To conclude, even though the whole thing was rather flawed, for some obvious reasons, it really touched me and I think it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in this subject.
