An average movie

I wasn't sure what to expect with this flick but since there was an intriguing cast, I still wanted to check it out. Indeed, way before reaching fame with 'Good Will Hunting', Matt Damon showed up in this Western but since it was barely seen, it took him a few more years to finally breaktrough. Personally, I thought it was a decent Western with a nice cast (Jason Patric, Gene Hackman, Robert Duvall, Wes Studi, Matt Damon). They all gave some nice performances, above all Wes Studi who was really convincing. Unfortunately, even though the title says that it is about 'Geronimo', we spend actually more time with the white people who got in contact with him, than with the real guy himself. Furthermore, even though the plot was fairly entertaining, it remained rather pedestrian and it didn't really bring anything new to the subject. Still, the actors were pretty good and I remains a decent Western so, in my opinion, it is definitely worth a look, especially if you like the genre.
