pure cheese

its been a long time sense i've seen the original chucky (child's play). i remember being creeped out despite the humor. i know its cheese and it's not meant to be anything more than that but this film swims in the cheese like its a luscious precious thing. its so absurd its nearly difficult to watch at points. the dolls are parodies of themselves. i know that sounds weird but honestly every scar, every hair thats slightly off is calculated so much that its difficult to believe these as the possessed evil dolls that they're meant to be. now they're just the possessed evil dolls that look like they should for the products that follow the movie.

the original chucky got damaged, inflicted pain. these dolls got accessories and cause gore. theres nothing creepy about this movie at all.

despite these gripes, this is a very different movie than the original. in fact the movie is about a movie being made about the dolls which just happen to be the dolls from the original "event" that the docu-drama they're making is about. the story is mostly about the long lost child of chucky and his bride who learns his parents and his heritage is homicidal maniacs.

ok its entertaining and funny. some decent gore. enough but nothing great
