An average movie

After his impressing dรฉbut, 'Once were warriors', Lee Tamahori was quickly spotted by Hollywood but I'm afraid none of his studio features reached the level of his brilliant first movie (I still have to see 'The Devil's Double' though). So, I didn't expect much with his 3rd movie but, honestly, it was actually one of his best. Indeed, Anthony Hopkins and Alec Baldwin were both pretty good and they made a good match. Above all, I thought it was a very good premise. I mean, they get stuck in the wilderness and their hope to make it is not really big but, on top of that, there is some huge tension between them. Also, they managed to keep you in the dark concerning Baldwin's intentions for most of the movie and I wasn't sure what I should make of him during the whole thing. Of course, since it is a commercial thriller, you have some ridiculous and annoying twists and action scenes at the end but I'm afraid it is inherent to the genre. To conclude, it is nothing great whatsoever, but it still remain a well made and entertaining thriller and it is definitely worth a look.
