a movie about ping pong? worse a movie about ping pong based on a japanese graphic novel? it sounds at best questionable. honestly it sounds dull and boring. in fact, its far from it. its one of the best dramas you're likely to see.

about 2 boys (actually 3, the third comes into the story later) who grew up playing ping pong and became extremely good at it. one has the potential but is a lost soul, one has the potential but allows the other to take the limelight, and the third (the later character) has the motivation but not the potential.
yes there is good (actually interesting) ping pong action, but most of this story is about childhood friends and the meaning and pitfalls of talent and potential.

amazing must see drama. forget the subject, its merely a background, the story is sublime.
