To be honest, I have to admit that I’m not very familiar with this band but that’s probably one of the reasons why I wanted to check this documentary. My first contact with them was around 20 years ago, when I was living in England. Back then, one of my Spanish roommates made me listen to this band and told me they were actually huge in Spain. So, it was really neat to actually discover them and to put some faces on the people responsible for this music. Concerning their music, I still don’t think that I’m a huge fan but there has always been something quite intriguing about this band. Indeed, these guys managed to create their very own sound and, in fact, it is actually rather difficult to really describe their music as it was some kind of mix of rock, pop, new wave, hard rock and always in Spanish. I also did appreciate the fact that, even if they were commercially successful, there was still something edgy about their performance, their style and their music. Concerning the documentary itself, the whole thing was quite informative but also really straightforward with nothing really noteworthy creatively speaking but since I pretty much knew nothing about this band, it didn’t really bother me. Furthermore, sometimes, they would start to talk about some interesting subjects but, then, it was abruptly dropped 30 seconds later. On top of that, except that all the members came from Saragossa, you learn pretty much nothing about them after all. Anyway, to conclude, even if it was nothing really groundbreaking, it was still a neat documentary and it is definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in this legendary Spanish band.
