An average movie

In fact, Uma Thurman reminds me somehow of Nicolas Cage. Indeed, you would usually find her he in some forgettable, even worthless pictures (like 'The Accidental Husband') but, from time to time, she still manage to pick up some really amazing movies (like 'Pulp Fiction'). With this in mind, I wasn't expecting much from this flick. Indeed, the ratings were pretty bad, the poster just looked terrible and the premise didnโ€™t really sound promising. Still, probably because my expectations were so low, the damned thing turned out to be not bad at all after all. It was above all thanks to Uma Thurman who was virtually in every single scene. Indeed, she delivered a really convincing performance. The main problem I had with this movie was that they tried too much to make it all sound quirky and clever but it didn't work very well. Furthermore, I think they messed the tone because I was never sure if I should feel sorry about the main character or laugh at her. Anyway, to conclude, even though this movie was rather flawed, I think it is underrated and it is actually definitely worth a look, especially if you are interested in Uma Thurman's work.
