Review of Log Horizon

Guao, I have that sometimes surprises me the patience that I have before do the things, or is that I no longer have self-love, but good to the roll.

First of all, the opening is the cock, so here I leave it (sorry if I didn’t find it in a better resolution): www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb-4z6mOPHc&t=5s

Log Horizon is an anime isekai that caught my attention when I saw many people who know how to “review” anime, so I decided to put it on the list to see it some day, the years passed, and they announced their third season, and that was what I wanted to say I had to see it but Now, so I downloaded it in HD, the files were corrupt and I had to download it again in 480p, but overall, the visual quality does not justify a story, and here I will tell why.

From the beginning I can say this series is infinitely better than any of the isekai that you know, since it treats the structure of your world much better, and in each plot of the multiple characters it shows us a perspective of how to solve a situation in a massive online video game, even if it means that virtual reality is already part of their lives, literally.

All this is gloriously shaped throughout the first season, from things as simple as making a hamburger, to flirting with the royal princess and beating 3 final bosses at the same time, it’s something that is minimal, you have to check … .but …. this series does not adapt as such to all books or sleeves, since it makes filler, and it is more noticeable in the second season, reaching until tired, since it shows that the story at a certain point does not nowhere, even in certain scenes where the studio decides that it is time to show such an important character on the screen so that it feels like there is some weight, but no people, it does not.

There are characters that I love in this series, and there are others that I hate, it is not my decision to get out those I hate, but what must be taken into account by the writers, is that to put an exaggerated cast of characters, it causes many to be forgotten and never develop it again, and here that happens a lot, and with the filler arches, well, you know, you don’t get anywhere.

The animation and drawing style is a very simple and limited one, yes, it becomes expressive, but very lacking in personality at certain times, besides that it is noted on many occasions that the studio did not have the adequate budget for such scenes, and here is where i say. WHY THE FUCK DID THEY DO THE FILLING ARCS THEN? To sell tits and asses again? Well, that doesn’t happen here at least, but a lot of “moe” scenes of certain female characters, and a lot of bad and repetitive jokes.

But at least, in the second season, there are certain scenes where they make the characters with their realistic looks from real life, and that counterpart together with the context of the story, I love it, but they are rarely, and I would like that they will experiment more like this with the work, or at least, improve their production in the third season, which has already been many years, and things change right?

I am not going to give the rating here, it makes me lazy, but if I can say again, that it is an isekai that can at least stand out among so many that are equal or poorly executed, so if you see it, at least appreciate the arches that If you feel part of the story, and not the fillers ones.

If not, see Outbreak Company or Re: Creators, which are a gem in my opinion, of the over-exploited genre of the isekai.

Oh and for a more modern recommendation, check out Deca-Dence.
