Not TOO shabby

This is my first Harlequin book in so many years. The cover caught my eye and the plot sealed the deal so I decided to take a chance on this one. It's a fast paced book and the action starts immediately. I liked Kristen right away and really identified with her anxiety and having panic attacks (not EVERY woman is perfectly calm under pressure), and Nick was very likable as well. The suspense was riveting, and I kept going back and forth with whether the "good guys" were involved or not. That's a sign of good writing. The romance between Kristen and Nick was a little lacking though, with them not having much chemistry in the beginning and his inner thoughts were a little weird for supposedly having to have been interested in her. The author writes very well, and is very descriptive which I especially liked when describing the wilderness around the two main characters. I could picture myself there, and the situations going on.
