Dreadful. Just dreadful.

This is not my first book read by Lee Hollis (a brother and sister duo), but it might very well be my last. Wow! What to say about this? I think this may be the worst "cozy" I have read. Not that it is written badly, though it's not that great either. But there are multiple gross sex references (going down on a man is mentioned along with a sister threesome fantasy mentioned...GROSS!). But I could forgive all that. What I CANNOT forgive is the blatant animal abuse done by the lead character. It's obvious the author(s) have never even been around a cat, let alone owned one. They don't pee all over the house unless they're scared and they are not demons. The main character grabs and yanks and PULLS the cat she's catsitting BY. THE. TAIL. How did this even get past editors? How disgraceful. But wait...there's more. The book describes shoving a toy of catnip in the cats face trying to subdue it to put it in the carrier, then drags the cat by the tail AGAIN into the carrier and shuts the door. But it's not over. When bringing the cat back to the owner, she dumps the cat out, literally. Again HOW did this make it to publication? Very, very, very upset this made it into a cozy and these are the actions of a "heroine". Not my heroine.
