Review of 24 Hours - A Day of Seals

This one is hard to review because of its size and although a lot of this is pretty tame compared to his 90's material I do enjoy most of what I hear. This was one of the first Merzbow releases I had bought and I remember I didn't even own a credit card at the time so I had someone else buy it for me...ha. Ah well, fun times. Getting back to the noise, there are a lot of guitar sampled loops you'll hear during most of these tracks. They all work for the most part but for some tracks, like Walrus Band, they just go on forever and it pisses me off because I'd love that track if it was like 8 minutes or so. I can also say that I think Charcoal Gray Clouds sounds like a remix of a bunch of other tracks on this release. Maybe I'm hearing things but it sure sounds like it. This release does contain two of my favorite Merzbow tracks though, those being Mincle No Uta and the beautiful Child of Dream Sea. Great loops and I put those two tracks on my Top 10 compilation, which I listed here: 2011 Movies/ Music and Games.
Below is my rating per album:

Disc 1: 4/5
Disc 2: 3/5
Disc 3: 3/5
Disc 4: 3.5/5
Overall: 4/5
