An average movie

To be honest, since I didn't like 'Olympus has Fallen' at all, I wasn't expecting much from this sequel but, since it was available on Netflix, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, I have to admit that I was surprised by how much I actually enjoyed the damned thing after all which turned out to be a vast improvement on its predecessor. First of all, after 09/11, it is not unthinkable that a major state funeral with many prominentย  heads of state could be the target of some terrorist attack. Of course, instead of simply blowing up the cathedral with everyone inside, they came up with a way too elaborate plan involving deeply infiltrating all the British security agencies which seemed rather unlikely. Still, compared to the tedious mess displayed in 'Olympus has Fallen', it was quite entertaining to see London turned into some war zone. Furthermore, Gerard Butler and Aaron Eckhart had a solid chemistry with plenty of fun oneliners. Concerning the rest of the cast, they had a ridiculously long list of talented actors who showed up for just a few scenes but they probably all got a nice paycheck for their effort. Anyway, to conclude, in spite of or because of my really low expectations, it turned out to be a solid action flick and I think it is actually worth a look, especially if you like the genre.ย
