This is my first Dirk Pitt read and I pretty much got what I expected. A good story that was 200 pages too long, it's fast paced reading, the ending was good, and I found Dirk Pitt to be almost too much of a super hero. I mean the guy is more impressive than Batman and I find it hard to believe that he could do all of things he did, even for a fictional story. I do want to read more from Cussler but I'm not much of a sea hand and I find nearly all his books are in or around water. I would recommend this one to anyone that is a fan of Preston, Child, and Clancy but I probably won't go out of my way to buy one of this guys books...unless it's on sale.
