Review of Henry: Portrait of a Serial Killer (20th Anniversary)

This film is probably one of the most amazing films made with a budget of just $100,000, for the 80's anyway. I sometimes can't believe it was made that cheaply because the film is very artistic and there isn't anything really cheap looking about it, except for the fake Otis head, but you see if just a second anyway. I'm personally a big fan of the serial killer genre and this film is probably one the most real one's made out there. It may not be 100% accurate but it sure does a hell of a good job of making you feel for the victims and even feel for Henry at times too. The whole family rape scene is pretty brutal for the time and even by todays standards most people couldn't watch it. I love the atmosphere in this film too. It's very dark, and pretty much shows you the shitty side of our world and it doesn't give off a happy ending at all, just like real life sometimes.
