An average movie

To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from this flick but, somehow, I still ended up watching this movie though. Even before it was released, the whole thing felt rather pointless, even if the classic version starring Charlton Heston came out already 60 years ago. And, indeed, it turned out to be a huge flop at the box-office and, after watching the damned thing, I don't think it really deserved a better fate, I'm afraid. At least, the whole thing did look alright but, even though it was 90 mins shorter than its illustrious predecessor, they still managed to make this classic tale seem longer and slower and, above all, much more boring. Another issue was the cast. Indeed, even if Jack Huston did look charismatic and had a few decent moments, his performance was still mostly bland and unconvincing. However, Toby Kebbell was even worse though. Seriously, he seemed rather miscast and the guy was just pretty weak making his character looking like some emo teenager. Eventually, this story, or at least, this version of this story, was mostly about the relationship between these two characters and since they were both terribly tedious, the whole thing became a real chore to watch. At least, the ending was not bad but this conclusion didn't felt earned at all, it completely clashed with the rest of the movie so it still didn't work. Anyway, to conclude, the whole thing was pretty much a waste of time and I don't think it is worth a look at all.
